JawiUKM Jawi Keyboard for Andr 1.0

The Jawi keyboard for Android is an input method editor (IME) that utilizes the contemporary Unicode encoding for Jawi characters, facilitating the input of these specific characters. To use this IME, users must configure it as a virtual keyboard.

The keyboard features two distinct layers: Layer 1 encompasses all 37 Jawi characters along with three Jawi punctuation marks (comma, full stop, and question mark), while Layer 2 provides Arabic numerals and additional symbols relevant for Jawi writing.

Upon installation of the application, users should follow these steps to enable the keyboard:

1. Navigate to Settings
2. Select System (Languages, Time, etc.)
3. Choose Language & input
4. Select Keyboard & inputs
5. Click on Manage keyboards
6. Toggle "JawiUKM IME" to the "on" position

If configured correctly, a small "keyboard" icon will appear in the top taskbar when attempting to write. Users can click this icon to switch to "JawiUKM IME" for writing in Jawi.

This keyboard distinguishes itself by using Jawi Kaf and Jawi Gaf, as opposed to the Arabic versions of these letters. While visually similar in their initial and medial forms, Jawi Kaf and Gaf have a unique shape in their final positions.
